TWO PASTA BARS
A 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 EXPERIENCE
We’re thrilled to welcome Yaya’s, a cult pasta bar from Shanghai known for stoking Italy’s pasta traditions with Chinese influences, on Saturday, 27 July, as they join us behind the pass and on the floor for a special pop-up dinner. We’ll be serving an a la carte one-night-only menu featuring specials and signatures from both Yaya’s and Bar Cicheti, with all the best wines to boot.
No cover charge, no stuffy set menu. Just eat and drink to your heart’s content.
Book ahead to avoid crushing disappointment.
BOOKING UPDATE
Our indoor tables are almost all booked out for the event. We currently have limited seating available outdoors and along our indoor bar counter. You can try to make a booking first, and if you are unable to book your preferred table/slot, join our waiting list below and our team will be in touch once a table opens up.
TOOTHSOME FUSION
Yaya’s 牙牙
The brainchild of restaurateurs Andrew Moo, Dan Li, and Mike Liu, Yaya’s (牙 as in tooth; a nod to pasta cooked “to the tooth”) started as a pop-up restaurant operating out of a Shanghai nightclub cloakroom in 2021. Today, they are a ‘no fuss, no frills’, neighbourhood pasta bar next to the historic Jing An Temple, where they’ve amassed a cult-following for their innovative pastas paired with Chinese ingredients and flavours.
Think Mapo Tofu Lasagna with layers of pasta and béchamel laced with tofu, slow-cooked mapo pork ragu, mozzarella, parm, and tingly Mapo sauce. Pappardelle twirled in lamb ragu spiced with Xinjiang herbs, topped with sour cream and dill. Or a creamy Burrata made from China’s finest Shandong milk, paired with kimchi and fennel jam.
TWIRLING & SWIRLING
Bar Cicheti 吧奇凯蒂
After a series of offsite collaborations with RVLT, Fool, Convivial and Unwined (KL), we’re finally playing host, and to a very special guest, no less—our friends from Shanghai at Yaya’s Pasta Bar.
For one night only, chef Danny Ng will be teaming up with Yaya’s chef Dan Li to dream up an a la carte menu of specials and signatures from both pasta bars, while Ronald Kamiyama will be working the floor with Andrew Moo and Mike Liu, bottles in hands, to pour up some good-time vino.
If you’re already a fan of Bar Cicheti and all we stand for—pasta and wine—this is an event you don’t want to miss. No ticket fee, no set menu. Just book a seat and eat and drink to your heart’s content.
